About Betty
Elizabeth
Sawtelle was born Elizabeth Bradshaw
Haldane, daughter of Rev. Dr. Robert and
Inez Elwell Haldane. She was
raised in a home filled with faith, love
and joy - one that gave her an
understanding of her own dedication to
the Holy Trinity and yet a respect for
people of all faiths. Although she
has been steadfast in her devotion to
God, Christ, and the Holy Spirit, she
has traveled beyond the faith she first
accepted to a higher spiritual level.
She's written the book The Light Within.
The contents illustrate how God's gifts have lifted her
beyond the physical daily routine to a
deep soul searching for a better way of
life.

A Note from Betty:
Ever
since my high school years I have had an
appreciation and fondness for poetry.
In my language arts program I often
found the poems I had written were
placed in the school newspaper and our
school librarian encouraged me to take a
course in creative writing. I was
honored when my class ode was chosen to
be sung at our graduation. Then
when I was at Husson College I wrote the
words to the music written by our choral
director, Mr. William Cupp, which was
used as the Husson College Song for many
years.
Throughout my life I
have continued to write poetry and I
have known that the words I wrote were
more often than not inspired by our
creator.
I have always given
thanks for this gift I humbly receive.
In 1999 I read the book Angelspeake
by Barbara Mark and Trudy Griswold.
I have always believed in angels and I
have felt their presence in many ways.
I began following the beautiful and
encouraging ways to contact my angels
and found this most rewarding.
Suddenly I began to receive messages as
well as poetry. I contacted Judy
Garbow, the Angelspeake Facilitator here
in Maine, and formed a friendship with
her that has become very special.
This has also brought together a group
of light workers, including my daughter,
who meet on a regular basis and who have
become a part of my very soul.
Although I have
experienced some amazing times with my
angels, which I explain in detail in my
book The Light Within it was the
winter and spring of 2006 during a
critical illness that I knew my mission
here was to bring both the messages and
poetry to others in book form.
Feeling 'out of body' and in
excruciating pain I had a vision of
Christ on the Cross. I remember
saying "If you could do this for me I
can heal and bring your message to
others." Thus I am holding true to
my promise in publishing The Light
Within. I pray the words you read
there will touch both heart and soul.
